    But if teachers fail to educate children, they don’t lose one dime, no matter how much those children and the country lose by their failure. If the schools waste precious time indoctrinating children, instead of educating them, that’s the children’s problem and the country’s problem, but not the teachers’ problem.  Sex indoctrination is just one of innumerable “exciting” and “innovative” self-indulgences of the schools. There is no bottom line test of what these boondoggles cost the children or the country.
  • Memphis’ BTW High gets more national attention
    In partnership with the White House and the Get Schooled Foundation, entertainment company Viacom will air a 30- minute special about the Booker T. Washington students and their journey as the winners of the 2011 Race to the Top Challenge beginning at 6 p.m. tonight on TV Land.  The program also airs in the next few days on BET, Centric, Comedy Central, MTV2, MTVU, and TeenNick.
  • Does the NAACP care more about children’s educations or union jobs?
    The teachers union wants to keep these abysmal schools open to preserve jobs for their members. This is bad enough. But the union and NAACP also want to limit better educational options for low-income families who can’t afford private schools and can’t afford to move to an affluent neighborhood with decent public schools.
